Silent Massacre in Iran

On January 8th, after over 10 days of protests against the Iranian regime, the Islamic Republic cut off the Internet completely. In the few days that ensued, a massacre occurred on streets of Iran the scale of which is still unclear. Scattered reports and video footage from hospitals and morgues, coming out through Starlinks, put the number in a few thousands to over 12 thousands range. This regime followed the same pattern in a smaller scale in the Bloody November of 2019 and it is a shame that the world let this happen again.

We, the Iranian diaspora, are shocked by the scale of atrocities. We are coming together to pay respect to those who lost their lives at the hands of the Islamic Regime in Iran and to honor those who are still taking to the streets for the people’s struggle and for freedom.

Like all previous KW4Iran events, please avoid chants/signs for or against any political opposition group. Please also only bring flags of Iran (without IR symbols) and avoid flags of any other country or region. The focus of this event is on the victims.

 پس از بیش از ده روز تظاهرات مردمی، رژیم سفاک جمهوری اسلامی، در روز ۱۸ دی، با قطع اینترنت دست به جنایتی زد که همه ما را بهت‌زده کرده است. هر چند ابعاد این جنایت هنوز به درستی مشخص نیست، اما گزارش‌ها خبر از هزاران یا حتی بیش از ۱۲ هزار کشته دارد. دور هم جمع می‌شویم تا یادی کنیم از عزیزانی که جان خود را در مرحله‌ای دیگر از مسیر خونبار آزادی وطن فدا کردند؛ و به احترام آزادی‌خواهان، همواره در خیابان فریاد آزادی سر می‌دهیم.
